William Thomas “Tom” Tarpley, 87, died at Hewitt House Assisted Living in Pulaski on Sunday. He graduated from Giles County High School, served in the Korean War in the US Navy

He is survived by his brother, Gilmore and wife Marie Tarpley, his son, Kent Tarpley, and wife Linda, and daughter Denise and husband Don Tarpley, and six grandchildren.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to the Giles County High School Football program.
