One person is dead and another critically injured in a serious crash in Maury County Thursday morning.

Authorities say crews responded to a head-on crash on Tom J Hitch Parkway.

One driver was found trapped and deceased, while another was found out of the vehicle in critical condition.

It took emergency crews about two hours to extricate and clear the roadway of debris and fluid leaks.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
