Unemployment rates across Tennessee in January 2024 increased in almost every county.

While statewide unemployment numbers are adjusted to consider the impacts of seasonal labor, county unemployment rates are not adjusted.

Ninety-three of Tennessee’s 95 counties experienced an increase in unemployment during January.

Giles County’s rate was 3.2% up from 2.9%, Lawrence County 3.6% up from 3.1%, Maury County 2.9% up from 2.5%, Franklin County rose from 3.2 to 3.6, Lincoln County went up from 2.8 to 3.2, Moore County jumped from 2.2% to 2.7%, and Wayne County 4.1% up from 3.5%.
