Mary Nell Byrd Gowen, age 84, of Leoma, TN passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Southern TN Regional Health System in Pulaski, TN. She was a native of Florence, AL, retired from Santini Corp., a member of Center Point Baptist Church and AFL-CIO Union.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas and Nina Jeter Byrd; her husband, Dee Gowen; and five brothers, W.T. Byrd, James Byrd, Frank Byrd, Bob Byrd, and Louis Byrd.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane Smith (Stephen) of Campbellsville, TN; one son, Barry Gowen (Barbara) of Killen, AL; two brothers, Malcolm Byrd of Leoma, TN and Joe Byrd of Cape Coral, FL; two sisters, Margie White of Leoma, TN and Edna Parrott of Leoma, TN; three grandchildren, Derrick Gowen (La Shae), Matt Gowen (Lindsay), and Steve Hagan (Alice); two step-grandchildren, Bronson Burns and Jerry Burns; and four great-grandchildren, Remington Gowen, Killian Gowen, Wesson Gowen, and Delaney Gowen.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 16, 2021, with Arnold Brown officiating.
