Cherry Ann McNeese McCree died Tuesday at NHC of Pulaski. She was born in Giles County and was 82 years old.

She was a graduate of Bodenham High School and Nashville General Hospital, where she received her nursing degree. She was employed with the Giles County Health Department for 38 years. She was a 60 year volunteer with the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, and Matthew 25.

She was chosen Giles Professional Woman of the Year and Civitan’s family of the year and was involved in the Giles County Senior Citizens Center, Boy Scouts of America, and served in the Tennessee Employee Association and the Giles County Election Commission. She was a member of the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church for 70 years serving as a Sunday School teacher, secretary and pianist.

Funeral services were held Saturday in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Debbie Eubanks officiating. Burial was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations in her name be given to the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church  c/o Sharon Smith, 2790 Oak Grove Road, Goodspring, TN 38467.

She is survived by her husband Tommy McCree of Goodspring; son, Gary McCree and wife Tammy of Goodspring; daughter, Marsha McCree of Pulaski; sister Mauvoline Burns of Pulaski; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
