Janice “Jan” Luna passed away with family members by her side at her home in Lynnville, TN on November May 24, 2021.  Jan was born in Lewisburg, TN on July 8, 1949, and was 72 years of age.

Jan grew up in Lynnville, TN where she attended Jones High School.  Soon after high school she married the love of her life, Gary Luna.  Jan and Gary had two children, which she dearly loved.  She was a wonderful mom and wife who gave all her passion and love into taking care of her family.  During the children’s younger years, she was a stay-at-home mom.  She always put her children and husband first.

After her children were raised, she decided to become a Registered Nurse (RN) to take advantage of her caring and nurturing ways.  Her role as a RN ranged from taking care of heart patients, outpatient surgery patients, home health patients and serving in public health.  She was instrumental in helping start the Cardiac Procedure Unit at Redmond Regional in Rome, GA.

Jan loved to spend time with family.  Her sense of humor and quick wit made everyone around her laugh.  Her love and kindness were felt by anyone who crossed her path.  She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.  She will be remembered by her willingness to help anyone in need.  Jan lived life with zero regrets and was at peace the day she left this earth.

Jan was preceded in death by her daughter Mimi Jan Luna, her parents Reed & Mary Hewitt Calahan, and her brother James Hewitt Calahan.

Jan was survived by her husband Gary Mark Luna of Lynnville, TN and her son Andrew Bryan Luna of Brentwood, TN, her brother Frank Reed Calahan of Pulaski, TN and her sister Joy Calahan Graves of Lynnville, TN.  We will all miss her more than words can say.

A memorial service will be held for Jan on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 2:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home in Pulaski, TN.  The family will be accepting visitors 1 hour prior to the service at 1:00pm.  Friends and family will be providing words of celebration.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Jan to be made to the Nikki Mitchell foundation.  Information can be found at https://www.nikkimitchellfoundation.org/.
