David Phil Minatra died Oct. 14 at his home in Lilburn, Georgia. He was born in Giles County and 65 years old.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Aileen Carden Minatra; his wife, Sally Smith Minatra; son, Craig Smith; and his grandparents.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 23, at White Oak Baptist Church in Lilburn. A service to honor and celebrate his life will follow at noon.

Survivors include two brothers: John Dorval Minatra of Pulaski and Charles Lane Minatra and wife Julia of Rockvale; children: Monty Perry and wife Sheila, Shannon simmers and husband matt, and Chad Smith and wife Becky; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grand children. Numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
