Mable Irene Hazelwood, age 88 of Athens died Friday at her residence.

She was born in Giles County, and a retired bookkeeper from D.E. Jackson Hospital, and a member of Salem Springs Baptist Church.

Visitation will be tomorrow (Tuesday) from 6-9 pm at Spry Funeral Home, with services at 1 pm Wednesday with Kip McKee officiating.

Burial in the New Salem Cemetery.

Survivors include, Husband, Roland Hazelwood of Athens. Daughter, Melinda Kerr of Huntsville. 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Sisters, Earlene Bassham and Annie Hendrix both of Minor Hill. Brothers, Joe Townsend of Anderson, and Smith Townsend of Minor Hill, and several nieces and nephews.
