The Federal Bureau of Investigation needs help building a case against a man accused of sexually abusing young boys over the past 30 years.

Wednesday, a federal grand jury returned a three-count indictment against 71-year-old James Coleman Thompson of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee.

The indictment alleges that Thompson brought victims across state lines to engage in sexual activity.

The indictment comes after an investigation by several agencies, including the FBI and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Officials with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said Thompson had an outstanding warrant in the county.

Authorities said Thompson was heavily involved in various youth hunting and wrestling programs. Authorities believe his victims would most likely be boys between the ages of 10-15 years.

Thompson is being held pending trial in Chattanooga.
