During a Work Session this week,  the Pulaski Mayor and Alderman was told one of the city’s bond issues will be paid off in March 2021.
City Administrator Terry Harrison told the board this will  free up money for projects, maintenance and restoration.
Harrison said the city will also apply for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) worth $550,000 to go toward projects.
The city will also receive nearly $200,000 from the state of Tennessee due to the coronavirus.
Harrison expressed the need for improvements for the pump station in front of the waste-water treatment plant, suggesting the state money be used toward what could end up being a $300,000 project.
The board was also informed that the city is eligible for an Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant worth up to $1.5 million, as long as it’s used toward an industrial benefit.
Harrison suggested that money be used on two high-importance projects which are cleaning up the raw water intake area, as well as installing an automatic gate valve for the water tank on Magazine Road.
The board will meet again at noon Tuesday, June 8th, at the City Hall.
