The Pulaski Board of Mayor and Aldermen heard from concerned citizens in regards to the ordinance strictly prohibiting the raising of fowls in the city limits.

The board plans on discussing additional options during future meetings.

All bids for four new 2020 Dodge Charger police cruisers were rejected by the board after the order, previously awarded to Freeland Automotive, in Columbia, was rejected by the manufacturing company.

Freeland contacted Pulaski Police Cheif John Dickey and told him that they had cut off orders for the 2020s, and Pulaski was included. Dickey explained they would not be eligible to order the 2021 model until the Fall of next year.

This led Dickey to search for other options for the four needed police cruisers, which brought him to look at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of Columbia, the owner of a statewide contract for government vehicles.

Dickey said they have two 2019’s that have not come in yet, and two on the ground. The price on those are higher, but are still less than what we’d be paying in the future."

The board rejected all previous bids and approved the purchase of the four police cruisers through the state contract.

The board approved a parade permit for the Giles County Public Library December 7th.

A resolution relative to E-911 was approved for support in raising the phone tariff.
